Tegan: I’m dating an American, and I took her to the opening ceremonies for the Paralympics in Vancouver. And when all the countries are walking out, when the USA, when your country, walked out my girlfriend started screaming hysterically, and I was like ‘shhhh, shhhhhh’.
It was cute, I was like filming her, but totally geeky, but anyway. Then when Canada walked out, because the home country gets to walk out last or whatever, out of alphabetical order, which doesn’t make sense to my Virgo brain, but I understand that’s how it works. So Canada walked out after the United States, and the place, like 60, 000 people went crazy. And my girlfriend started chanting ‘USA!’. She just did it to irritate me, that’s another part of our relationship I really enjoy.
